Green Smoothie Recipe with Blueberries
This past week I’ve been feeling really under the weather, I’m still feeling it to be honest but the dizzy spells seem to have stopped which is great. I’ve also been feeling a bit meh about my health since moving into my own place because well it’s been down to me to cook and I’ve completely forgot that vegetables and fruit exist. So last night when I went to have some sort of healthy snack and saw that my cucumber lay lifeless in my fridge I decided I had to take action.
It’s a known fact that fruit and veg are good for you and when you’re lacking that you don’t see the side effects straight away but for someone who is never ill being struck down by a week long virus made me think “oh crap”. Smoothies are one of the best ways to inject goodness into your diet, you can literally throw anything in there and blend in no time at all and the possibilities of smoothies is actually endless.
I’m still in the process of looking into all the different ingredients that do all sorts of magical things to my body but one of my favourites is a Green Smoothie recipe using blueberries! It’s super easy to do and doesn’t need a whole load of fancy ingredients!
What you need:
1 cup of blueberries
1 banana
2 sticks of celery chopped
1/2 cup yogurt plain/flavoured
The celery is one of the most important ingredients in this as it’s a huge source of Vitamin C, Potassium and Fiber. Some of you may not find it that appealing at first but trust me once you give it a go, you will love it! I use the banana to thicken up the drink as well as add a creamy texture then the blueberries to add flavour and they also act an antioxidant (yay!).
The amount of ingredients used can be added to but mine is the perfect amount for me and my Breville Blend Active (post coming soon).
Everything is pretty much self explanatory after that just pop in your fruit, add your yogurt and blend!
